Asheville is located in Western North Carolina along Interstate 26. It is a lively yet sophisticated city nestled in the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area.  This area includes eleven thousand square miles of the Great Smokey Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains. The city of Asheville affords beautiful mountain scenery, contemporary art galleries, outdoor activities for the adventurous and non-adventurous, fine organic dining, as well as fabulous shopping.

The area in and around Asheville has thousands of miles of trails for hiking, biking, or leisurely strolls. For a taste of the past visit the Biltmore Estate , originally built by George Vanderbilt. Rafting is easily accessible on the Nantahala or French Broad Rivers. The pleasing facade of the downtown area features extensive shopping and diverse range of art collections at over thirty galleries.  Explore the area’s rich history by visiting Park Place Education, Arts & Science Center which houses the Asheville Art Museum, Colburn Earth Science Museum, and the Diana Wortham Theatre.
